The Claris R2000 Compact Chainset is designed for use on a 2×8 drivetrain and features SG-X chainrings with strategically placed chain pick-up pins and tooth profiles, which ensure fast and positive shifting. The Claris R2000 also benefits from trickle down technology from Shimano’s top-end models such as the 4-arm crank design.

Efficient Power Transfer

The 4-arm layout gives this chainset a modern look and increases the rigidity. It’s also compatible with Shimano’s “Hollowtech II” bottom bracket system, which consists of large external bearings on the bottom bracket and a large spindle attached to one crank arm. This system offers smoother performance and enhanced power transfer when compared to more basic internal bearing systems.
